  • Cattleguard Pour-On endectocide is a ready to use, clear solution containing 5g/L moxidectin.

    Cattleguard pour-on for cattle and red deer is an endectocide with efficacy in treating and controlling moxidectin-sensitive internal and external parasites in cattle and lungworm, and roundworms in red deer. Moxidectin is a second generation macrocyclic lactone endectocide.

    Cattleguard pour-on for cattle and red deer is effective in the treatment and control of the following parasites affecting cattle:

    Cattle Tick (Rhipicephalus (Boophilus) microplus) Control

    Cattleguard pour-on for cattle and red deer is effective for treatment and control of cattletick on cattle, including strains resistant to organophosphates, synthetic pyrethroids and amidines.

     The persistent activity of Cattleguard pour-on prevents the development of viable cattle tick (Rhipicephalus (Boophilus) microplus) for 21 days after treatment. For strategic programs treatment at 21 day intervals is recommended.

     Some engorged females continue to drop for up to three days after the first treatment, and may lay some viable eggs. This should be taken into account when planning a strategic dipping program.

     Buffalo Fly (Haematobia irritans exigua) Control

    The persistant activity of Cattleguard pour on for cattle and red deer can be used as an aid in the control of buffalo fly (Haematobia irritans exigua) for up to 14 days after treatment.

    In addition, Cattleguard pour-on for cattle and red deer can be used to treat and control the following parasites of red deer.

  • Broad Spectrum

    Cattleguard pour-on for cattle and red deer is efficacious against roundworms, lungworm, cattle tick, lice and mites which infect cattle, and lungworm and roundworms of red deer.

    Effect on Dung Beetles

    When applied as directed, the levels of Cattleguard pour-on for cattle and red deer in the faeces of treated cattle are not likely to have any significant adverse effect on the following dung beetles: Onthophagus gazella, O. taurus. Euoniticellus intermedius and E.fulvus. Effects on other dung beetle species have not been fully evaluated.

  • 5L backpack and 15L drum with draw off and hose supplied.

  • Cattleguard pour-on for cattle and red deer should be applied along the top of the back from the withers to the base of the tail. Do not retreat deer within 60 days.

    Volume to use is 1mL per 10 kg liveweight. This will administer the correct dose of  0.5mg/kg liveweight.

    Cattleguard pour-on for cattle and red deer can be used in lactating dairy cattle but DO NOT TREAT LACTATING DAIRY CATTLE AT LESS THAN 21 DAY INTERVALS.

    Cattle in excess of 650 kg should be dosed at 1mL per 10 kg liveweight.

    A representative sample of animals should be weighed before treatment either with scales or a weighband. Dose rate should be based on the heaviest animal in each group (bulls,cows steers, calves etc).

    Do not underdose. Check accuracy of dose delivery of applicator regularly.

    Where there is a large variation in size within the group, draft two or more lines based on bodyweight, to avoid excessive overdosing.

    Do not use in underweight or malnourished cattle.

    Rainfast

    The efficacy of Cattleguard pour-on for cattle and red deer is not adversely affected if applied when the hide is wet, or if rain occurs shortly after application. However the efficacy against tick and buffalo fly may be reduced if very heavy rain falls following treatment. Treatment of animals under these circumstances is not good agricultural practice.

    Weatherproof

    The efficacy of Cattleguard pour-on for cattle and red deer is not adverseley affected if applied to cattle under extreme seasonal conditions such as very high UV-light and temperatures in summer and very low temperatures in winter.

    Non Irritant

    Cattleguard pour-on for cattle and red deer does not cause irritation to the skin or hide when used as directed.

    Ease of Use

    Cattleguard pour-on for cattle and red deer comes ready to use. A number of applicators have been tested with Cattleguard pour-on for cattle and red deer and several have proved suitable, including Phillips 45 mL applicator.
